Ratings: ABC’s “Dirty Dancing” Weaker In Demo, Stronger In Viewership Than “Rocky Horror”

A look at how ABC’s “Dirty Dancing” remake fared in the ratings.

Dirty Dancing [ABC]

In analyzing the ratings for ABC’s made-for-TV “Dirty Dancing” remake, it makes sense to draw a comparison to FOX’s fall 2016 “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” broadcast.

Such a comparison is mixed.

On the one hand, ABC’s movie drew fewer adults 18-49.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, “Dirty Dancing” averaged a 1.3 in the demo.

“Rocky Horror” posted a 1.7 in that key young adult demographic.

The older-skewing “Dirty Dancing” did, however, draw a larger overall audience. It averaged 6.59 million total viewers, while “Rocky Horror” attracted 4.95 million.
