“SNL” Posts Big Ratings For Melissa McCarthy, HAIM Episode

Saturday’s “SNL” was the second-most-watched installment this season.

This weekend’s “Saturday Night Live,” which featured host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest HAIM, posted strong ratings.

Citing fast official data, NBC says it drew a 2.74 adults 18-49 rating and 10.337 million overall viewers.

It was the season’s #3 episode in the adults 18-49 demographic (below only the Alec Baldwin-Ed Sheeran and Dave Chappelle-A Tribe Called Quest episodes). It was the season’s #2 episode in viewership (below only the Baldwin-Sheeran installment).

Not simply good by “SNL” standards, the episode was a strong performer in a broader network television context. The adults 18-49 rating was the best posted by a network program since the March 22 “Empire” (2.82).
