John Mayer’s song “In The Blood” recently began receiving attention from country radio programmers. Popular host Bobby Bones has demonstrated particular enthusiasm for the song.

Thanks to the high-profile airplay, it actually debuted at #59 on this week’s Billboard Country Airplay chart.

Aware of the early support, Columbia and Arista Nashville officially serviced a 3:58 radio edit to country radio Monday night.

Columbia’s radio team also advertised the song in this week’s Country Aircheck and Billboard Country Update trade newsletters.

The ad touts the song’s early sales, streaming and Shazam numbers.

There is no indication that Columbia is yet committed to a full-fledged, long-term promotional campaign for the song, but it clearly wants to make sure “In The Blood” is firmly on the radar.

“In The Blood” appears on Mayer’s recently released album “The Search For Everything.”
