The Weeknd’s “Party Monster” Expected To Reach #1 At Rhythmic Radio

The Weeknd will likely have cause for celebration this week, as his “Party Monster” is expected to top the Mediabase rhythmic airplay chart.

“Party Monster” received 3,758 spins during the first five days of the March 12-18 tracking week. Up 6.0% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots The Weeknd’s tune at #1 on the building rhythmic chart.

Big Sean’s “Bounce Back,” the #2 song, is not too far behind — it received 3,730 spins during the tracking week’s first five days.

The key, however, concerns each song’s trajectory. Whereas “Party Monster” is up 6.0% over last week, “Bounce Back” is down 9.8%. Since the former is accelerating and the latter is decelerating, there is every reason to believe “Party Monster” will maintain — and actually expand — its lead as the week draws to a close.

Travi$ Scott’s “Goosebumps” (#3 on building, 3,528 spins, +11.3%) is not too far behind, but it will doubtfully be able to catch “Party Monster” by the close of tracking.

“Party Monster” will follow the title track as the second rhythmic #1 from The Weeknd’s “Starboy” album.
