Shakira’s “Chantaje (featuring Maluma)” was released on October 28, 2016.

On March 9, 2017, it earned a diamond certification under the RIAA’s Latin program.

The certification confirms 600,000 US units; each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

“Chantaje” reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and peaked at #51 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. It has amassed over 800 million music video views.

Launched in 2001, the RIAA’s Latin program is designed to “celebrate Latin music sales, specifically titles that contain more than 50 percent Spanish language.”
