Lorde Confirms New Album “Melodrama,” Releases Video For Lead Single “Green Light”

Update: In a Thursday afternoon Tweet, Lorde confirmed speculation that her sophomore album will be called “Melodrama.”

Speculation began when Lorde premiered a teaser website entitled “M*******a.” In addition to “Melodrama,” other popular guesses included “Marijuana” and “Millennia.”

The Tweet coincided with the release of lead single “Green Light,” which was made available on digital platforms and to radio. The music video is also available (watch it below).

She’s back!

Lorde just released her first solo/lead song since 2014. It is entitled “Green Light,” and it serves as the lead single from her eagerly anticipated sophomore album.

“Green Light” enters the market following several days of multi-channel marketing, including a TV spot, a promotional website and in-person visuals.

No punches are being pulled when it comes to the launch. The song was just made available on digital providers, while numerous radio stations plan to provide “on the hour” airplay.
