In a December 2016 press release, Sony Pictures revealed that Meghan Trainor recorded a song called “I’m A Lady” for the official “Smurfs: The Lost Village” soundtrack.

The new song arrives Friday, February 24.

Trainor, who also wrote and co-produced the track, revealed the news in an Instagram post that features a photo from the music video set.

“I’m A Lady” is not Trainor’s first contribution to a family-oriented film. In 2015, the Grammy-winning artist’s “Better When I’m Dancin'” appeared on the soundtrack to “The Peanuts Movie.”

The new “Smurfs” song represents the first solo music from Trainor since her sophomore album “Thank You” arrived in May 2016. She appeared on Brett Eldredge’s cover of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” in the interim.
