Ratings: “Saturday Night Live” Enjoys Huge Gain For Alec Baldwin & Ed Sheeran

SNL [NBC]

Featuring host Alec Baldwin and musical guest Ed Sheeran, this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” posted mammoth ratings.

Citing metered market data, NBC says the episode drew a 7.2 overnight household rating. It meanwhile posted a 3.6 adults 18-9 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters.

The 7.2 rating is the series’ best overnight household rating since January 8, 2011, when the Jim Carrey-The Black Keys episode drew a 7.8. That episode, it should be noted, aired the same night as a big football game.

The local adults 18-49 figure is the best since the 3.9 drawn by the Dave Chappelle-A Tribe Called Quest episode this fall.

Both numbers also reflect huge gains over last week’s performance. With host Kristen Stewart and musical guest Alessia Cara, last week’s show drew a 5.0 overnight household rating and a 2.5 in the adults 18-49 demographic.
