In the wake of her issue-ridden performance at “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” Mariah Carey has not been receiving the most glowing of press.

Here is some news that is of the positive variety: her smash hit “We Belong Together” is officially multi-platinum in the US.

The single, which was platinum going into December, was upgraded to triple platinum on December 8. The award confirms 3 million in US units, with each unit being equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
