FOX will dedicate December 14 to its two musical dramas.

The network confirms that the “Empire” fall finale will air at 8PM ET/PT that night. It will lead into the 9PM ET/PT premiere of new series “Star.”

“Featuring a soundtrack of original music and stunning music performances, STAR is an emotionally powerful drama that follows three talented young singers — desperate for a new start and with ambitions of stardom — as they navigate the cut-throat music business,” says FOX of the new series.

From Lee Daniels (“Empire”) and Tom Donaghy (“The Whole Truth”), the series stars Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady, and Amiyah Scott. Lenny Kravitz, Naomi Campbell, and Tyrese will appear as guest stars.

Following the December 14 preview/premiere, “Star” will resume with originals beginning January 4 (also in the 9PM ET/PT timeslot).
