No, NBC’s “This Is Us” did not rival FOX’s World Series coverage in the ratings department.

No, NBC’s “This Is Us” did not avoid a slight ratings drop in the face of the World Series competition.

Yes, it still performed very impressively.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Tuesday’s “This Is Us” drew a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating and 8.68 million total viewers.

While the numbers do trail the 2.6 rating and 9.71 million viewer figure garnered by last week’s episode, the number is not at all concerning given the intense MLB competition.

“This Is Us” again built on its “The Voice” lead-in (2.1, 9.40 million) in adults 18-49. It also repeated as the night’s #1 non-sports program.

— “This Is Us” led into “Chicago Fire” (1.6, 6.94 million this week vs. 1.6, 7.40 million last week).
