The Weeknd & Daft Punk’s “Starboy” Heading Top 10 At Pop & Rhythmic Radio

The Weeknd’s “Starboy (featuring Daft Punk)” is set to reach the Top 10 on the Mediabase pop and rhythmic airplay charts this week.

“Starboy” received 5,076 pop spins during the first four days of the October 2-8 tracking period. Up 79.3% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Starboy” at #10 on Mediabase’s building pop chart.

Given that it faces no obvious threat from below, “Starboy” should have no trouble retaining its Top 10 position through the close of tracking. It may even leapfrog Adele’s building #9 “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” before the chart goes final.

“Starboy” is also #10 on the building rhythmic chart; it received 1,873 rhythmic spins during the first four days of tracking (+88.6%).

“Starboy” should leapfrog Rihanna’s building #9 “Needed Me” and Kanye West’s building #8 “Father Stretch My Hands” before the close of tracking. It will almost certainly stay inside the Top 10.

The October 2-8 tracking period will mark the song’s third week on the pop and rhythmic airplay charts.
