As of 2AM ET Friday morning, new releases occupy the Top 8 spots on the US iTunes album sales chart.

Bon Iver’s new “22, A Million” claims the very top spot on the listing. BANKS’ “The Altar” directly follows at #2, while Jonathan David & Melissa Helser’s “Beautiful Surrender” and Yellowcard’s “Yellowcard” respectively claim #3 and #4.

Regina Spektor’s #5 “Remember Us To Life,” John Prine’s #6 “For Better, Or Worse,” Alex & Sierra’s #7 “As Seen On TV,” and Bob Weir’s #8 “Blue Mountain” claim the next few slots on the chart.

It is not until the #9 position that we see a holdover release. Shawn Mendes’ “Illuminate,” which was this past week’s best seller, occupies that #9 position.

Opeth’s new “Sorceress” is currently #10.

Specific sales projections for the week’s key new releases should emerge this weekend.
