No longer interested in playing coy, MTV has confirmed that Beyonce will be performing at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

The announcement comes amid a myriad of reports that Beyonce would be taking the stage at Sunday’s ceremony. The LA Times initially reported that the superstar was participating in secret rehearsals for a VMAs performance.

Numerous sources subsequently doubled down on the rumor, confirming that Beyonce was, indeed, scheduled to perform.

With the secret out, MTV followed suit, Tweeting confirmation of Beyonce’s performance Sunday evening.

It, of course, remains unclear why MTV did not simply announce the performance several days ago. The late announcement bottlenecks the ratings impact.

Emanating from Madison Square Garden, the VMAs ceremony begins at 9PM ET.
