Wednesday afternoon, MTV confirmed that Alessia Cara would be performing on the Video Music Awards pre-show.

MTV’s announcement, which said Cara would be performing a medley of “Wild Things” and “Scars To Your Beautiful,” suggested she would be taking the stage alone.

That no longer appears to be the case.

Thursday morning, Alessia Cara Tweeted an invitation for Troye Sivan to join her for the performance. The rising pop star accepted.

“I’ve had a hole in my pants all morning but I’m feeling unfazed and fresh bc performing at the @vmas soon so who cares,” wrote Cara. “however …. i would feel even more unfazed and fresh if someone joined me on stage …….. @troyesivan …… what do ya say???”

Troye Sivan, who is in New York promoting his new V Magazine cover, responded, “UM yes lol I would kill to!!!!! Wyd lets rehearse.”

Cara appears as a featured artist on Sivan’s current radio single “WILD.” While MTV’s press release only referenced “Wild Things” and “Scars To Your Beautiful” as confirmed song choices, it seems very likely that “WILD” will make its way into the collaborative performance.

Co-hosted by DJ Khaled and also featuring performances by Lukas Graham and Jidenna, the VMA pre-show airs at 8PM ET on August 28. It leads into the 9PM main ceremony.
