The Chainsmokers & Halsey’s “Closer” Remains A Clear #1 On US iTunes Sales Chart

Last Thursday, The Chainsmokers’ “Closer (featuring Halsey)” returned to #1 on the US iTunes single sales chart.

It remains there as of 11:55PM ET Monday night, and its lead is considerable.

Per real-time trending data, “Closer” is presently outselling twenty one pilots’ “Heathens,” the #2 song, by a rate of about 3:2.

Combined with ongoing success on the streaming front and impressive growth at radio, the sales advantage bodes well for the song’s likelihood of soaring to a new peak on next week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart. It is impressively positioned at #6 on this week’s listing.

“Closer” premiered on July 29 as the follow-up to “Don’t Let Me Down (featuring Daya).” That track peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent three weeks atop the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

“Closer” is already up to #1 on the ARIA (Australian) singles chart.
