Katy Perry’s “Rise” Debuts At #11 On Billboard Hot 100

Katy Perry’s “Rise” is predictably the highest charting new arrival on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.

The NBC Olympics coverage anthem starts at #11 on the listing, which ranks songs based on combined activity from sales, streaming and radio airplay.

“Rise” was the week’s best selling digital single in the US, and it also received healthy interest from the hot adult contemporary and pop radio formats.

Apple Music had exclusivity on audio streaming for much of the tracking week, which bottlenecked the song’s streaming activity. On the other hand, the early success of Drake’s “Views” proves that Apple Music exclusives can still generate massive amounts of audio streams. The “Rise” streaming score was also aided by the accompanying cinema video.
