Major Lazer, Justin Bieber & MØ’s “Cold Water” Received 1659 Day One Pop Spins; Set For Top 30 Pop Chart Debut

Despite not launching until the sixth day of the July 17-23 tracking week, Major Lazer’s “Cold Water (featuring Justin Bieber & MØ)” will debut prominently on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

“Cold Water” received 1,659 spins on July 22, which marked its first day of release. The count positions the song at #29 on Mediabase’s building chart (based on the first six days of the tracking week).

Because yesterday’s spin count was buoyed by “on the hour” airplay from iHeartMedia stations, one should not expect “Cold Water” to receive nearly as many spins on day two. It should, however, receive enough to remain inside the Top 30 through the close of tracking. The fact that Ruth B’s building #24 “Lost Boy” is set to be removed as a recurrent — thus boosting all songs below by one place — should also help make the Top 30 bow a reality.

“Cold Water” remains the #1 song on the US iTunes sales chart. It, meanwhile, registered as July 22’s #2 song on the US Spotify streaming chart. Only Drake’s “One Dance (featuring WizKid & Kyla)” picked up more daily streams.
