ScHoolboy Q’s “Blank Face LP” Projected For 50-55K Sales; Drake Will Reclaim #1 On BB200

Schoolboy Q [Jimmy Kimmel Live | ABC]

ScHoolboy Q’s “Blank Face LP” has a solid chance of claiming #1 on this coming week’s Top Album Sales chart. Drake’s “Views” is meanwhile set to regain the crown on the Billboard 200 consumption chart.

Based on opening day sales data, Hits Daily Double projects “Blank Face” to sell 50-55,000 pure US copies during the July 8-14 tracking week. Such a sales tally would easily rank as the week’s best for a new release.

If Blink-182’s “California” falls by at least 70% in week two, a 50-55K sales total would also be enough to earn “Blank Face LP” #1 on the overall Top Album Sales chart.

With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) added to the pure sales total, Hits expects “Blank Face” to generate 63-70,000 in weekly consumption.

Drake’s “Views,” which should post generate about 90-110,000 in weekly units, is therefore the frontrunner to reclaim #1 on the consumption-oriented Billboard 200. After nine weeks at #1, “Views” ceded the throne to Blink’s album on this past week’s chart.

— Other early projections for this week:

Switchfoot’s “Where The Light Shines Through” (~24-27,000 album sales, 25-28,000 units) and Chevelle’s “The New Corridor” (~24-27,000 album sales, 25-28,000 units).
