When it comes to RIAA certifications, June 28, 2016 was a very fruitful day for Muse. Three of the band’s albums were crowned platinum in the United States, and an additional release ascended to gold status.

The platinum certifications were issued to “Black Holes and Revelations,” “The Resistance” and “Absolution.” Muse’s “The 2nd Law” earned the gold certification.

Gold and platinum certifications respectively confirm US unit totals of 500,000 and 1 million. One unit is equal to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.

The aforementioned four releases are the only Muse albums with US certifications. Muse also holds single certifications for “Madness” (platinum), “Supermassive Black Hole” (platinum), “Starlight” (platinum), “Uprising” (platinum), “Knights of Cydonia” (gold) and “Time Is Running Out” (gold).
