James Bay’s “Let It Go,” Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” Heading Top 10 at Pop Radio

James Bay [NBC]

James Bay’s “Let It Go,” which is the format’s current iHeartRadio “On The Verge” selection, will officially enter pop radio’s Top 10 this week.

Sia’s “Cheap Thrills (featuring Sean Paul)” will also crack the Top 10 of the official Mediabase pop chart.

The former received 6,714 spins during the first five days of the June 12-18 tracking week. Up 8.3% from last week’s count, the tally slots “Let It Go” at #8 on Mediabase’s building chart.

“Cheap Thrills,” which received 6,474 spins within the same five day window (+26.9%), is #10 on building.

Given the absence of imminent threats from below, neither song should face difficulty retaining its Top 10 status through the close of tracking. “Cheap Thrills” actually appears likely to overtake Nick Jonas’ building #9 “Close.”

“Let It Go” will become Bay’s first Top 10 hit at US pop radio. “Cheap Thrills” will follow “Chandelier” in becoming Sia’s second as a lead artist. “Chandelier” peaked at #10, so an ascent to #9 on the final chart would make “Cheap Thrills” the singer-songwriter’s highest-charting lead release.
