Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home” Takes Lead In Race For #1 at Rhythmic Radio

Fifth Harmony [Radio Disney]

Earlier this week, “Work From Home (featuring Ty Dolla $ign)” became Fifth Harmony’s fourth platinum-certified single in the United States.

By the end of this week, it may become the group’s first #1 radio hit.

With only two days remaining in the official tracking week, “Work From Home” is leading the race for the top spot on Mediabase’s rhythmic radio airplay chart.

“Work From Home” received 3,703 spins during the first five days of the May 1-7 tracking week. Up 23.5% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “WFH” at #1 on Mediabase’s building chart.

Belly’s “Might Not (featuring The Weeknd),” which was #1 on last week’s official chart, is down to #2 on building courtesy the 3,641 spins it received during the tracking week’s first five days (-4.8%). Drake’s “One Dance (featuring WizKid & Kyla)” is #3 on building with 3,495 spins (+32.0%).

Given the fact that it is decelerating, “Might Not” doubtfully represents a threat to the Fifth Harmony song’s quest for #1. The only viable threat, therefore, is “One Dance.”

The fact that “One Dance” is gaining faster certainly creates concern, but it is worth noting that its acceleration advantage has decreased as the week has progressed.

And if both songs were to remain on their current trajectories — “Work From Home” up 23.5% week-to-week, “One Dance” up 32.0% — the Fifth Harmony song would be ahead at the close of tracking.
