Iggy Azalea’s “The New Classic” Earns Platinum Certification in the US

As Iggy Azalea commences her second album era, a new RIAA certification has arrived for her first.

Azalea’s “The New Classic,” which spawned hits like “Fancy” and “Black Widow,” is officially platinum in the United States.

The platinum certification confirms a total of 1 million units. Under the terms of the RIAA’s revamped albums program, one unit is equal to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.

The certification was formally issued April 11, 2016.
