Jordan Smith’s “Something Beautiful” Pacing For Best Post-“Voice” Sales Week

Levine Smith [NBC]

At the onset of the March 18-24 tracking week, Jordan Smith’s debut album “Something Beautiful” appeared poised for a debut US sales figure in the 33-38,000 range.

Based on a stronger-than-expected performance in the first half of the week, that expectation has been elevated.

Per Hits Daily Double, “Something Beautiful” is now expected to sell 46-51,000 pure US copies this week.

A figure in that range would mark the best opening week performance for an album from a “The Voice” contestant.

Cassadee Pope’s “Frame By Frame,” which currently holds that distinction, sold 43,000 copies in its first week. Pope won the third season of NBC’s reality juggernaut; Smith is the season nine winner.

“Something Beautiful,” which received exposure during Monday’s TODAY, is expected to claim #2 on the overall Top Album Sales chart. Only Gwen Stefani’s “This Is What The Truth Feels Like” (~73-78K) will sell more weekly copies.

The album should land in the Top 5 on the Billboard 200, which accounts for album sales, TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams).
