Lady Gaga Comments On Sony, Dr. Luke Rumors; “Do The Right Thing”

Lady Gaga [ABC]

Wednesday afternoon, trade journal The Wrap reported that Sony was planning to end its contractual relationship with producer and imprint head Dr. Luke.

Shortly after the report emerged, Lady Gaga commented on the news.

Gaga, who has been outspoken in her support of Kesha and the #FreeKesha movement in recent weeks, asked Sony to “do the right thing” in a Tweet linking to The Wrap’s story. Her Tweet also includes the hashtag #PeopleOverProfit.

Dr. Luke and Sony have denied Kesha’s allegations of abuse, but many influential voices — including the aforementioned Gaga — have thrown their support behind the musician. #FreeKesha has also rallied the support of many music fans, ensuring public relations ramifications for the label group no matter how the actual legal cases shake out.
