The 1975’s “I Like It When You Sleep” Hits 40K US Pre-Order Sales Ahead of Release

The 1975 [NBC]

The 1975’s eagerly anticipated “I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It” officially arrives Friday.

It enters the market with what Hits Daily Double reports as 40,000 confirmed pre-order sales in the US (as well as 20,000 in the band’s native UK).

The combination of those banked pre-orders and the sales “I Like It When You Sleep” is expected to generate during release week should make the album a contender for #1 in both nations.

If it indeed hits #1 in the regions, it would follow the band’s self-titled debut as its second #1 in the UK. It would be The 1975’s first chart-topper in the US; the aforementioned debut LP peaked at #28 on the then-sales-only Billboard 200.

— In terms of new releases, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “This Unruly Mess I’ve Made” represents one of the week’s other high-profile releases.
