This week, it claims the top spot on the format’s weekly add board.
“PILLOWTALK” earns most added on the strength of weekly pickups from 71 Mediabase-monitored pop stations. With last week’s 88 included, “PILLOWTALK” has now been formally added by a whopping 159 stations.
Sources indicate that “PILLOWTALK” is the new iHeartRadio “On The Verge” pick at pop radio, which would entitle the song to guaranteed airplay from iHeartMedia’s pop stations. Support for the song, however, extends far beyond the iHeart umbrella. It is already #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and it is poised to make a major impact at pop radio.
Picked up by an impressive 56 Mediabase-monitored stations in conjunction with this week’s revised official impact date, Zara Larsson & MNEK’s “Never Forget You” follows as second-most added. Armed with momentum — and a healthy dose of new support — the international hit is expected to crack the Top 40 on this coming week’s Mediabase airplay chart.
Zendaya’s new “Something New (featuring Chris Brown)” takes third with 38 impact week adds, while Mike Posner’s “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” earns fourth with 35 pickups. A weekly add count of 25 earns Alessia Cara’s “Wild Things” fifth place.
This week’s other notable pop radio options: Coldplay’s “Adventure Of A Lifetime” (20 adds, 6th-most, tie), Rihanna’s “Work (featuring Drake)” (20 adds, 6th, tie), Lukas Graham’s “7 Years” (19 adds, 8th), G-Eazy x Bebe Rexha’s “Me, Myself & I” (16 adds, 9th), and Travi$ Scott’s “Antidote” (14 adds, 10th).
