FOX’s “Scream Queens” Renewed For Season 2, “Empire” Gets Third Season

While one could not deny the softness of its live+same-day ratings, one could not ignore the value of the “Scream Queens” brand.

By combining that branding value with strong social media metrics and solid DVR and on-demand growth, FOX found motivation to renew the horror anthology for a second installment.

“This time, the show will be set in a hospital, where some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation,” explains FOX. Casting announcements will be made at a later date.

“Scream Queens” was one of two FOX series to earn a renewal Friday. “Empire,” the other, predictably received a third season pickup.
