Ed Sheeran’s “x” Earns 2X Platinum Certification in the US

As of December 17, 2015, Ed Sheeran’s “x” is officially multi-platinum in the United States.

The singer-songwriter’s sophomore album has received a 2x platinum certification from the RIAA. The certification confirms a US shipment total of at least 2 million.

In terms of end-consumer purchases, “x” has sold over 1.9 million copies in the United States.

Responsible for hits like “Don’t” and “Thinking Out Loud,” “x” is Sheeran’s first multi-platinum album in the US. Predecessor “+” is currently platinum.
