Vance Joy’s “Riptide” Receives 3X Platinum Certification, “Mess Is Mine” Now Gold in US

Vance Joy - Atlantic

For Vance Joy, this week has thus far brought two new certifications from the RIAA.

On December 14, 2015, his breakthrough hit “Riptide” earned a 3X platinum distinction. The honor confirms a US unit total of at least 3 million; one unit is equal to 1 paid download or 100 streams.

The following day, Vance Joy earned his first certification for a different single. His “Mess Is Mine” officially attained gold status in the United States (500,000 units).

“Riptide” peaked at #30 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Mess Is Mine” did not chart on the all-encompassing Hot 100, but it did find success at alternative radio.
