As it prepares to enter the Top 3 at pop radio, Selena Gomez’ “Same Old Love” is also set to make Top 20 leaps at rhythmic and hot adult contemporary radio.
The second “Revival” single received 1,714 spins during the first six days of the December 6-12 tracking week. Up 13.0% from the same point last week, the count positions “Same Old Love” at #18 on Mediabase’s building rhythmic chart.
Absent an imminent threat — Big Sean’s “Play No Games,” Ariana Grande’s “Focus,” and Chris Brown’s “Zero,” the three songs just below “Same Old Love,” are all declining — “Same Old Love” should have no trouble retaining its position through the end of the tracking week.
“Same Old Love” concurrently received 1,369 Hot AC spins across the tracking week’s first six days. Up a whopping 44.6% from last week’s mark, the tally earns “Same Old Love” the #19 spot on the building chart.
It will definitely retain its Top 20 standing through the close of the chart week.
Last week, “Same Old Love” was officially #21 on both charts.
