Ratings: FX’s “The Bastard Executioner” Finale Drew 867K Live + SD Viewers

Tuesday’s “The Bastard Executioner,” which represented the series finale, enjoyed live+same-day improvement in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

By the same token, its numbers were still unimpressive — and thus further illustration of the “meh” audience reaction described by creator Kurt Sutter.

Per Nielsen cable data, Tuesday’s episode drew a 0.31 adults 18-49 rating and 867,000 total viewers. The previous broadcast, which was the worst performer of the first and only season, drew a 0.26 and 816,000 total viewers.

Formally, FX had been promoting last night’s episode as a season finale rather than a series finale. Kurt Sutter referred to last night’s episode as the final one across his social media accounts, but even he waited until Wednesday to formally issue a statement confirming the cancellation.
