Ratings: HBO’s “The Leftovers” Declines This Week

After posting two consecutive weeks of improvement, HBO’s “The Leftovers” dipped in adults 18-49 and total viewership this week.

Sunday’s episode drew a 0.28 adults 18-49 rating and 610,000 total viewers. The numbers trail those of last week’s broadcast, which posted a 0.33 and reached a total audience of 636,000 total viewers.

This week’s “The Leftovers,” which was the seventh of the current season, ended in a cliffhanger. It will be interesting to see if next week’s broadcast receives an associated uptick.

While critical acclaim has been considerably stronger this season, viewership has been considerably weaker. No first season episode drew fewer than 1.38 million viewers.

No first season episode, however, was asked to compete with AMC’s “Fear The Walking Dead” or “The Walking Dead.” Only one faced competition from Sunday Night Football.
