Adele’s “Hello” Going Top 5 at Pop Radio, Will Claim #1 at Adult Contemporary

The surge continues for Adele’s “Hello,” which is on track to score a Top 5 position on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

The lead “25” single received 7,361 pop plays during the first four days of the November 8-14 tracking period. Up a whopping 53.6% from last week’s total, the tally positions “Hello” at #5 on Mediabase’s building airplay chart.

Given its rapid pace and absence of imminent competition, “Hello” will have no trouble retaining its Top 5 spot over the tracking week’s final few days. It may, in fact, leapfrog The Weeknd’s declining “The Hills” (7,958 spins during the week’s first four days, -13.8%) for #4.

— A multi-format smash, “Hello” this past week reached #1 on Mediabase’s AAA airplay chart. It will do so at adult contemporary this week (it is #1 on the building chart).

Adele’s single is also comfortably within the Top 5 at hot adult contemporary radio and on pace to reach the Top 20 at urban adult contemporary and Top 25 at rhythmic.
