Ratings: HBO’s “The Leftovers” Rises This Week

While it did not win back all of last week’s lost audience, Sunday’s “The Leftovers” did enjoy upticks in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Facing competition from what would become the final World Series game in addition to its opposition from Sunday Night Football and “The Walking Dead,” this week’s edition of the HBO drama posted a 0.28 adults 18-49 rating with 625,000 viewers.

Both numbers top those of last week’s broadcast, which scored a 0.26 rating and a series low viewership total of 519,000.

They do not, however, rival the 0.38 rating and 777,000 audience mark posted by the October 18 episode.

Now airing in the fall — and in one of television’s most competitive timeslots no less — the first five season two episodes have fallen dramatically short of the first season’s typical performance level.
