Ratings: “Quantico” Slips, Loses ABC’s Sunday Night Crown (Updated)

Final Ratings Update: Nielsen’s final broadcast data confirms that this week’s “Quantico” was ABC’s #2 Sunday night program in adults 18-49 and #3 program in total viewers.

It was the first of the five “Quantico” episodes to miss #1 in both columns.

Down from the previous week’s 1.6 and 5.299 million viewership total, this week’s “Quantico” posted a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating with 5.105 million viewers.

8PM drama “Once Upon A Time” (1.6, 5.122 million) led “Quantico” in both columns. 7PM series “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (1.1, 5.338 million) outperformed the new drama in total viewership.

To the credit of “Quantico,” it is still performing admirably for its Sunday at 10PM timeslot. It also continues to build significantly upon its “Blood & Oil” lead-in (0.9 with 3.768 million viewers this week).

Fast National Ratings: For the first time this season, “Quantico” failed to rank as ABC’s top Sunday night performer in adults 18-49 or total viewership.

Per fast national data, Sunday’s episode drew a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating with 5.065 million viewers. Down from the 1.6 rating and 5.299 million viewership total posted by last week’s episode, the numbers were each ABC’s second-best Sunday night.

“Once Upon A Time” (1.6, 5.042 million) led ABC’s night in adults 18-49, while “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (1.1, 5.326 million) led in total viewership.

While the drop cost “Quantico” its competitive advantage over ABC’s other Sunday night shows, it was not an alarming week-to-week fall. “Quantico,” moreover, deserves credit for consistently building on its “Blood & Oil” lead-in (0.9, 3.702 million this week).

==============================

Entitled “Found,” Sunday’s “Quantico” was the freshman drama’s fifth episode.

It was also the fifth episode to rank as ABC’s Sunday night leader in the overnight household ratings.

According to Nielsen metered market data, Sunday’s episode posted a 3.9 overnight household rating. Up slightly from the previous week’s 3.7, the rating also positions “Quantico” ahead of fellow ABC Sunday night series “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (3.2), “Once Upon a Time” (3.2), and “Blood & Oil” (2.6).

There is no guarantee “Quantico” also led ABC’s night in adults 18-49; performances over the past few weeks, in fact, suggest it and “Once Upon a Time” performed comparably in that demo. The advantage in households does, however, bode well for another stint as ABC’s most-watched Sunday show.

Adults 18-49 and total viewership data will be issued by 11:15AM ET.
