Ratings: “The Muppets” Premiere Posts Strong Marks

Final Ratings Update: ABC’s “The Muppets” debuted with a strong 2.9 adults 18-49 rating with 9.005 million viewers. It was Tuesday’s #2 program in the adults 18-49 demographic; only NBC’s “The Voice” (3.5) fared better.

ABC’s lineup also included “Fresh Off The Boat” (1.9, 6.054 million) and a two-hour “Dancing With The Stars” (1.5, 9.579 million).
==================

While it will be interesting to see how the show holds up in the coming weeks and months, ABC’s “The Muppets” posted strong premiere marks.

Tuesday’s inaugural episode drew a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating with 8.91 million viewers.

It was its timeslot’s #2 broadcast network program in adults 18-49 (behind “The Voice”). It trailed “The Voice” and “NCIS” in total viewers.

Third place in a timeslot that includes shows of that magnitude is not, however, a sign of failure.

“The Muppets” led into ABC’s “Fresh Off The Boat” season premiere (1.9, 6.07 million). ABC then offered two hours of “Dancing With the Stars” (1.6, 9.30 million at 9PM; 1.4, 9.65 million at 10PM).
