Sam Hunt’s “Break Up In a Small Town” Ranks as Country Radio’s Most-Added Song

Sam Hunt’s “Break Up In a Small Town” and Zac Brown Band’s “Beautiful Drug” both come from country radio superstars. Both are follow-ups to #1 hits. Both feature EDM elements. Both officially impacted the country radio format this week.

The Sam Hunt song received a slightly greater quantity of weekly support.

Hunt’s new single, which is the fourth official release from his “Montevallo,” received pickups from 44 Mediabase-monitored country stations this week. “Beautiful Drug” followed with adds from 42 monitored stations.

The two rank as country’s most-added and second-most-added songs.

Picked up by 32 stations, Rascal Flatts’ “I Like The Sound of That” follows as third-most-added. Craig Morgan’s “When I’m Gone” grabs fourth-most-added on the strength of its 27 pickups, while add counts of 24 position Brad Paisley’s “Country Nation” and Joe Nichols’ “Freaks Like Me” in a tie for fifth-most-added.

Other notable country options: Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man” (17 adds, 7th-most-added), Michael Ray’s “Real Men Love Jesus” (16, 8th), Jason Aldean’s “Gonna Know We Were Here” (12, 9th), Jon Pardi’s “Head Over Boots” (9, 10th, tie), Lee Brice’s “That Don’t Sound Like You” (9, 10th, tie), and Scotty McCreery’s “Southern Belle” (9, 10th, tie).
