“The Perfect Guy” Beats “The Visit” In Tight Weekend Box Office Race

Going into the weekend, the movie industry knew to expect a two-film race between “The Perfect Guy” and “The Visit.”

Few, however, predicted it would be as close as it was.

Based on studio estimates, “The Perfect Guy” edged “The Visit” by just over $1 million. “Guy” earned $26.7 million in its first weekend; “The Visit” grossed $25.7 million.

The two films were in their own league at the box office. “War Room,” the #3 film, followed with $7.4 million. “A Walk In the Woods” (#4, $4.6 million) and “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” (#5, $4.2 million) completed the Top 5.
