Ratings: 2015 VMA Preshow Suffers Sharp Decline From 2014

MTV’s 2015 MTV Video Music Awards preshow, which featured performances from Nick Jonas, Walk The Moon, and the premiere of Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” video, drew a considerably smaller audience than the 2014 version.

The MTV broadcast of this year’s preshow posted a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating with 2.840 million total viewers.

Both numbers trail those of the 2014 edition, which garnered a 1.9 rating and 3.778 million viewers for MTV.

As previously reported, the MTV edition of the actual ceremony also took a huge hit. Its adults 18-49 rating fell 38% from the 2014 mark. A boost from a myriad of simulcast options, however, resulted in a much narrower year-over-year drop.

The 2014 preshow featured performances from Fifth Harmony and Charli XCX.
