George Ezra, Macklemore & Ed Sheeran, Beck Reach Hot AC Radio’s Top 50

Hot adult contemporary radio welcomes a myriad of songs into its Top 50.

Leading the charge is Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams.” The latest “1989” single enjoys a forty five place boost to #29 on the strength of its 731 weekly plays (+683).

Jamie Lawson’s “Wasn’t Expecting That,” which is the new iHeartRadio “On the Verge” song also crosses the Top 50 threshold — and the Top 40 mark — this week. It rises twenty six places to #33 courtesy 517 weekly plays (+429).

Spun 223 times during the August 23-29 tracking week (+86), George Ezra’s “Blame It On Me” rises seven places to #46.

While programmers may nix–or at least scale back–their support now that official single “Downtown” is available, they made Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Growing Up (featuring Ed Sheeran)” a Top 50 song during the August 23-29 tracking week. Up three places, the song reaches #48 on the strength of 206 weekly plays (+58).

Beck’s alternative crossover “Dreams” is the final addition to the Top 50. Spun 199 times this week (+89), it rises seven places to #49.
