The Weeknd Pacing for 250K+ Album Sales, Halsey Expected To Sell 70-80K

The Weeknd [ABC]

Based on the first wave of release day data, The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind the Madness” and Halsey’s “Badlands” are selling at the pace generally expected by industry analysts.

They will comfortably rank as the week’s two best-sellers.

Consistent with a projection issued earlier this summer, Hits says The Weeknd’s “Beauty” is still on pace to shift 250,000 traditional US album copies during its first week of release.

Halsey’s “Badlands” is pacing for an initial sales week in the 70-80,000 range. That tally is in the ballpark of the 65-75,000 figure presented by industry forecasters.

More precise forecasts will be issued as the August 28-September 3 tracking week progresses.
