Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song” Earns Platinum Certification in US

The lead single from Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece by Piece” is officially platinum in the United States.

According to the RIAA, Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song” received the distinction on July 23, 2015. As it had not been previously certified, it also retroactively received a gold label.

Per the rules of RIAA’s digital singles program, a platinum certification confirms a US unit total of at least 1 million. One unit is equal to 1 paid download or 100 streams.

“Heartbeat Song” first emerged in January 2015.
