X Ambassadors’ “Renegades” Tops Alt Radio for 9th Week; AWOLNATION Hits Top 10

X Ambassadors (NBC)

iHeartRadio was not remotely mistaken when it afforded the “On the Verge” label to X Ambassadors’ “Renegades.”

The song, which is already making significant inroads at the mainstream radio formats, extends its streak atop the Mediabase alternative airplay chart.

Spun ~3,120 times during the August 2-8 tracking week (-59) “Renegades” tops the alternative listing for a ninth straight week.

Insofar as it remains distantly separated from its competition, a tenth week remains very possible.

twenty one pilots’ “Tear in My Heart” again represents the closest competitor. It received ~2,638 tracking week spins (-89).

Beck’s “Dreams” (#3, = | ~2,564, -7), Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s (#4, = | +79) and Mumford & Sons’ “The Wolf” (#5, = | ~2,458, +15) complete the Top 5. All mirror last week’s positions.

While the Top 5 is without a new addition, the Top 10 does admit a new entrant. AWOLNATION’s “I Am,” that new Top 10 addition, rises two places to #10. It received ~1,234 weekly plays (+219).
