Ratings: HBO’s “True Detective” Declines as Finale Approaches, “Ballers” Also Falls

Sunday’s “True Detective” episode was the least-watched of the second season.

Airing from 9:01-10:05PM, the episode posted a 0.97 adults 18-49 rating with 2.177 million total viewers. Last week’s episode, which itself posted season low numbers, managed a 1.02 with 2.340 million.

This week’s episode was the penultimate of the second season. The extended-length season finale airs next week.

“Ballers,” which led out of “True Detective,” also suffered week-over-week losses. After posting a 0.92 adults 18-49 rating with 1.811 million viewers last week, it drew a 0.76 with 1.590 million this week.

HBO’s other Sunday programming included “The Brink” (0.46 with 999,0000 vs. a 0.42 with 975,000) and “Last Week Tonight” (0.42 with 975,000 vs. a 0.32 with 938,000).
