One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” Debuts at #39 on Rolling Pop Radio Chart

One Direction - Corden - CBS

Owing to hourly airplay promotion from iHeartMedia’s network of stations, One Direction’s new “Drag Me Down” scored 1,224 pop radio spins on its first day of release.

All achieved on July 31, that total is the 39th-greatest for the seven-day period between July 25 and July 31. “Drag Me Down” thus appears at #39 on Mediabase’s rolling pop airplay chart.

Since many of its spins came within high-profile markets, “Drag Me Down” ranks even more favorably from an audience standpoint. Its opening day audience impression total of 11.12 million was the 32nd-greatest for the July 25-31 period.

Insofar as “Drag Me Down” will continue to gain steam on Saturday, it is a lock to debut within the Top 40 on this week’s official Mediabase airplay chart. Issued Sunday evening, that chart measures activity from the official Sunday-Saturday (7/26-8/1, in this case) tracking week.
