Ratings: “Jim Gaffigan Show” Drew 1.58 Million Total Viewers on TV Land, Nick at Nite

The series premiere of “The Jim Gaffigan Show,” which aired concurrently on TV Land and Nick at Nite, reached a combined 1.581 million viewers. Its total adults 18-49 rating registered at 0.44.

The episode, which aired in the 10PM timeslot Wednesday, posted a 0.24 adults 18-49 rating with 731,000 viewers on Nick at Nite and a 0.20 rating with 850,000 audience members on TV Land.

Officially a TV Land show (after initially being pegged as a network TV offering), the simulcast launch strategy was similar to that used for “Younger.” That series, which ultimately received a second season renewal, opened with a 0.17 rating/504,000 viewers on TV Land and a 0.16/662,000 viewers on Nick at Nite. A third concurrent airing on Nick Jr. posted a 0.04 with 200,000 viewers.

In advance of Wednesday’s premiere, TV Land made the second episode – which it evidently considered stronger than the pilot – available for on-demand streaming.
