Ratings: MTV’s “Scream” Rises in Week Three

While it did not match the numbers posted by its June 30 premiere episode, this Tuesday’s “Scream” managed week-over-week gains in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and total viewership.

Tuesday’s episode drew a 0.39 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.51 adults 18-34 rating and a total of 872,000 viewers.

All three numbers top those of last week’s episode, which managed a 0.37 in adults 18-49, a 0.44 in adults 18-34 and a viewership total of 811,000.

The previous week’s premiere scored a 0.45 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.65 adults 18-34 rating and 1.026 million total viewers.

Insofar as this week’s numbers comfortably trail those of the premiere, which was itself considered an underwhelming performer, they are not independent causes for celebration. The fact that the episode partially reversed last week’s downturn is, however, a welcome reality.
