Canaan Smith’s “Love You Like That” Also Earns #1 on Billboard Country Airplay

In addition to reaching the apex of the Mediabase country radio singles chart, Canaan Smith’s “Love You Like That” claims the top spot on Billboard’s corresponding Country Airplay chart.

Up three places, “Love You Like That” reaches #1 on the strength of its 48.301 million weekly audience impressions.

Enough to give “Love You Like That” a narrow edge over Jason Aldean’s #2 “Tonight Looks Good on You” (48.265 million), the weekly audience total bests last week’s mark by a whopping 8.435 million. That gain easily ranks as the week’s greatest for a country song.

Cut from his debut album “Bronco,” “Love You Like That” is Smith’s first #1 hit on both the Mediabase and Billboard charts.

“I woke up wondering how 1 guy could be so lucky and so blessed,” wrote Smith in a promotional letter that appeared in the Country Aircheck and Billboard newsletters. “The support I feel is the greatest win of all.”

Joining “Love You Like That” and “Tonight Looks Good on You” in Billboard’s weekly Top 5 are Blake Shelton’s #3 “Sangria” (45.677 million, -3.973 million), Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” (38.482 million, +2.663 million) and Brantley Gilbert’s “One Hell of an Amen” (38.175 million, +4.503 million).

— Confirmed Sunday, Smith’s “Love You Like That” tops the Mediabase country radio singles chart on the strength of its 28,593 weekly chart points. It received 8,254 weekly plays and 56.876 million audience impressions from members of the Mediabase panel.
