Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ Tops 2015 Single Sales Chart; Ed Sheeran Follows

Responsible for nearly 5 million paid downloads since the beginning of 2015, Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” lands atop Nielsen Music’s mid-year single sales report.

The blockbuster single, which spent fourteen weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 and still holds a place within the Top 10, has thus far moved 4.883 million US copies in 2015. Its position atop the mid-year digital single sales chart comes with a margin of more than 1 million sales.

Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” which is the year’s second-best seller, follows with 3.450 million.

Through six months, 2015’s ten best-selling singles are as follows:

1) Mark Ronson – Uptown Funk ft. Bruno Mars – 4.883 million
2) Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud – 3.540 million
3) Wiz Khalifa – See You Again ft. Charlie Puth – 3.073 million
4) Maroon 5 – Sugar – 2.884 million
5) Ellie Goulding – Love Me Like You Do – 2.294 million
6) Walk The Moon – Shut Up and Dance – 2.155 million
7) The Weeknd – Earned It – 1.966 million
8) Hozier – Take Me to Church – 1.925 million
9) Rihanna, Kanye West, Paul McCartney – FourFiveSeconds – 1.868 million
10) Fetty Wap – Trap Queen – 1.864 million.
